UltraComp SORTA is a clever innovation for the mobile industry that enables “optimal routing” to voice mail. It allows telecom operators to offer voice mail services to its subscribers at a lower rate. It facilitates customer loyalty because subscribers can save up to 36% on their bill for their international calls, and more importantly it attracts new customers.

Cost-effective with immediate ROI

A recent survey, based on data provided by a European operator for the outgoing calls made by their subscribers visiting a different operator in a different network (international calls), shows that:

• 62% of incoming calls are successful.
• 38% are re-directed to subscriber's VMS, among which:
  • 20% immediately re-directed (no cost) after HLR request before sending the call to the visited network, because
    • a) subscriber enables “Call forward” capabilities towards another telephone number or to its VMS (CFU or CALL FORWARDING UNCONDITIONAL)
    • b) subscriber has powered off its handset (IMSI DETACH procedure)
  • 18% re-directed on “LATE CALL FORWARDING” (no response, busy, non-reachable), where the visited MSC creates a backward call to the VMS in your network. In this case, there are 2 international calls charged to your Int'l carrier by your roaming partner. 18% x 2 = 36%

The savings are enormous for subscribers and operators since international calls to VMS do not benefit either of them in the current circumstances. This way, operators now have the choice to apply a new tariff plan and billing policies to its partners & subscribers.

Using SORTA (System Optimisation Routing Transfer

By implementing a SORTA “box” in your SS7 network connected to your GMSC and used with your GMSC software features, it will be able to recognize a backward international call forwarded to the VMS.

Thus, it will take control and replace it by a direct call to the VMS resulting in a 36% saving.
